Dictionary of Slang

Slang based on wikipedia is the use of informal words and expressions that are not considered standard in the speaker's dialect or language. Slang is often to be found in areas of the lexicon that refer to things considered taboo. It is often used to identify with one's peers and, although it may be common among young people, it is used by people of all ages and social groups.

Slang is the continual and ever-changing use and definition of words in informal conversation, often using references as a means of comparison or showing likeness. some modern slang has endured over the decades since its inception (i.e. cool) and some will only last a few years before being rendered obsolete or outdated (i.e. bling bling). slang can be born from any number of situations or ideas (the word slang itself has come to represent selling, especially of illegal drugs), and can be blunt or riddled with metaphor, and often quite profound.
the use of slang is frequently ridiculed by culturally-ignorant people who feel it is the product of insufficient education and believe it to be counter-evolutionary; of course, they couldn't be farther from the truth. human language has been in a state of constant reinvention for centuries, and slang has been used and created by poets and writers of all sorts (William Shakespeare has been credited for the upbringing of at least a couple of words). it is the right and responsibility of the modern human to keep re-evaluating language, to give dead words innovative contemporary meanings or to simply invent new ones, in order to be more appealing and representative to the speaker/listener (which was essentially the basis behind language anyway, to understandably communicate thoughts or ideas verbally).
the use of and constant flux in slang is the only exciting thing happening in language, making present day especially interesting with the wealth of new words and definitions appearing seemingly everywhere. those who speak ill of slang obviously feel threatened or alienated by the evolution of a language they can't control, and all y'all trick ass marks need to stop running ya gums 'fore y'all gets slapped the fuck up...bitches.

Indonesia Pengguna Twitter “Terbesar” Di Dunia

Selain Facebook yang booming sebagai web jejaring sosial, Twitter juga banyak menyedot pengguna internet untuk membuat akun jejaring sosial mikroblog ini dan pengguna internet Indonesia salah satunya sudah sangat akrab dengan jejaring sosial yang update statusnya hanya 140 karakter ini.

Kepopuleran Facebook tidak kalah dengan kepopuleran Twitter di Indonesia, buktinya pengguna internet Indonesia lebih sering terekam oleh situs A World of Tweets karena banyaknya jumlah pengguna dalam menggunakan jejaring sosial ini. Terlihat dari jumlah persen dan map user yang sedang menggunakan twitter di Indonesia dan saya lihat tadi malam 8/12/10 jumlah pengguna twitter indonesia mencapai 30% dan dibawahnya ada Amerika, Inggris, Belanda dan Spanyol, jadi Indonesia sangat sering dalam menggunakan akun jejaring sosial ini dan masuk dalam kategori pengguna Twitter yang terbasar di dunia.

Jejaring sosial ini sangat diminati karena disamping dalam penggunaan twitter yang sangat simple dan update status dengan 140 karakter, yang sama halnya dengan menulis pesan pendek di handphone selain itu Twitter memiliki trend-trend topic dimana semakin banyak topik tertentu dibicarakan maka topik tersebut menjadi trend dan yang pasti yang mempunyai akun Twitter tidak ketinggalan informasi dengan trending topic yang sedang hot dibicarakan, biasanya hampir setiap hari ada aja topik-topik yang menjadi trend di bicarakan baik itu, selebriti, atlit, kejadian, informasi, produk, event dan lain-lain. Dan kadand trend tersebut bisa bertahan sampai sebulan.

Data statistik yang pasti mengenai pengguna twitter di Indonesia tidak lah ada namun dengan menggunakan situs A World of Tweets kegiatan yang menggunakan twitter akan terlihat jelas bahwa Indonesia adalah salah satu pengguna Twitter terbesar didunia.
